So with just over a week until the Edinburgh marathon and I’m feeling tired all the time. With a heavy heart I printed out my ‘Eat for Endurance’ plan. It’s a diet regime for the week leading up to a marathon where for the start of the week you empty the tanks and towards the end you Carb load. I first used it for my second London marathon and really felt the benefits and have followed it ever since. It is the only time that I voluntarily eat Broccoli and is an absolute ball ache to follow, as I saw it roll off the printer I thought ‘Ah, Eat for Endurance, we meet again’, it’s worth doing though.
I haven’t even got to Edinburgh yet and I’m look over its shoulder to Tokyo next year, but this race will be good although I’ve heard that it can be quite windy when you run around the coast. Also the Finish line being so far outside Edinburgh is a pain, but we’ll sort something out and Edinburgh is a fun town to fall off the wagon.
