Buddha Shakyamuni -Lino Cut 2015

Buddha Shakyamuni - Linocut - 2016
(Framed - 4cm x 5cm, unframed 2.7cm x 3.4cm)

This print was inspired by a 7th centuary Bronze figure in The British Museum from eastern India . Shaymamuni Buddha was one of the names given to Siddhrtha Gautama the Buddha who founded Buddhism.

When cutting the lino I was drawn to the detail of the hand and added the energy lines emanating from the Buddha's fingers. I see it as a very positive energy, both protecting and encouraging.

Greatest Living Welsh 1 - John Cale

Greatest Living Welsh # 1 - John Cale Linocut 2015
(Framed - 3.5cm x 4.2cm, unframed 2.7cm x 3.4cm)

I wanted to create a series of prints which celebrated important contemporary creative people in Welsh life.

The first in the series was Velvet Underground co-founder John Cale. Can there be a cooler Taff? I doubt it. As well as his work with the Velvets he's produced acrs as diverse as Blondie and The Happy Mondays.

What I love about Cale is his energetic creativity. He is never one to rest on his laurels. I admire his undimmed enthusiasm for the arts and the avant garde.

The Manic Street Preacher

(Framed - 4.5cm x 3.7cm, unframed 3cm x 2.5cm)

Blackwood's generational terroists. The most successful band to come out of Cymru they've managed to weather traumas and still recreate themselves. I've been lucky enough to see the band live a umber of times and their always full of dynamite and energy.
